When we left Craig Marquis had just busted out in 9th place that was on hand 52. As we continue the action Demidov is barely trailing Schwartz both with over 30 million in chips, after that Eastgate is in third with 23.5 Million. The following is the complete chip count:

Ylon Schwartz 36,625,000
Ivan Demidov 32,000,000
Peter Eastgate 23,575,000
Scott Montgomery 17,500,000
Darus Suharto 11,475,000
Dennis Phillips 9,550,000
David “Chino” Rheem 4,900,000
Kelly Kim 600,000

It was widely believed that Kelly Kim would be the first to leave us today, he started with just over 10 big bets. However, due to some smart and steady play along with a well timed double he has managed to improve his financial standing thus far by at least $387,547 USD. He also has ensured that the title of Millionaire will be next to his name as 8th place will receive 1,288,217 USD. The complete pay out list is as follows:

1st $9,152,416
2nd $5,809,595
3rd $4,517,773
4th $3,774,974
5th $3,096,768
6th $2,418,562
7th $1,772,650
8th $1,288,217
9th $900,670 Craig Marquis

The action continued immediately following the break as the long running short stack here today finally decided to make a stand for his tournament life. As the Big Blind Kelly Kim is already nearly all-in with only 150k worth of live chips, following a limp from Ylon Schwartz, Darus Suharto and Ivan Demidov Kelly Kim decided to put in his remaining 150k and is called by all three other players. With a flop of 9h 6s 2s Demidov decides to bet which is typically an unorthodox move in this position, this brings a fold from Schwartz and a call from Suharto. The turn falls the Ah and both players check through to the river, which brings a Qd drawing yet another check check. Demidov and Suharto show down for the side pot:

Board – 9h 6s 2s Ah Qd
Suharto – 9c 10c
Demidov – 9d 5s

With that Suharto takes the side pot, and eventually drags the whole pot as Kelly Kim mucks his hand. For his efforts he managed to increase his payday and finish 8th as apposed to much expected 9th.

On hand #55 Scott Montgomery opens the pot to 1,100,000 from two under the gun and is re-raised to 3.7 Million by Phillips in late position. This draws a fold from Scott Montgomery causing the crowd to go crazy! Then on hand #58 Chino Rheem opens for a million straight from under the gun and is snap raised all-in by Darus Suharto for just shy 15 Million, this however is really only a raise of an additional 4.5 Million as Rheem started the hand with approximately 5.5 Million. With the action back to Rheem he takes the time to think while asking some pondering questions to Suharto, however he finally mucks his hand and finds himself down to around 4.5 Million.

Hand #61 is just another step in what is starting to look like Ivan Demidovs’ path to the bracelet, as he hooks up with Suharto in yet another large pot. It starts with Suharto opening from the hijack seat for 1.1 Million and is re-raised to 3.3 Million by Demidov from the Small Blind this draws a call from Suharto. With the flop falling Kc 9s 7c Demidov leads out for just under half the pot (3.325 million) and after tanking for nearly 2 minutes Suharto raises an additional 5 million. Immediately Demidov declares ALL-IN! and after about another minute Suharto folds.

Ivan Demidov continues to find himself in the bigger pots as on Hand #63 he gets all-in with Chino Rheem. Rheem who pushed in his final 2.7 Million chips from early position found a caller immediately to his left, after everyone else folded the hands were tabled:

Chino Rheem: Ac Kh (45%)
Demidov: 9s 9h (55%)

With that we found ourselves in a classic raise with Demidov on the slightly better side for the moment. When the flop falls things look great for Demidov:

Flop: 8s 7h 5d

Demidov is enjoying a four to one advantage over Rheem and with either a 9 or 6 of any suit can have Rheem drawing dead to half the pot. However to his displeasure the turn falls:

Turn: Kd

This leaves Rheem in great shape with a 7 to 1 lead over Demidov, who is now looking for one of the four 6’s still in the deck or the last two 9’s. And at that the River Falls:

River: Jd

With that the crowd blows up and Chino finds himself with 6.45 Million chips, this leaves Rheem out of the fire but there is still the frying pan to contend with.

On hand #66 we find ourselves with another all-in pot again and as we expected with the first player eliminated the action would pick up. Schwartz makes a late position raise to 1.1 million, with the action on Suharto in the Small Blind he looks down at his cards and immediately announces all-in for a total of 3.9 Million leaving Schwartz 2.8 Million to go. After the Rheem folds Schwartz shrugs and says “all right I call”

Schwartz: Qc 8s
Suharto: Ac Kh

This is decent news for Suharto however he still has to worry as Schwartz even though his hand is weak still has two live cards. The flop brings:

Flop: 2h 6s Qh

And with that Schwartz takes the lead and now needs to avoid an Ace, King or running straight or flush cards. The turn falls:

Turn: Kc

And with that Suharto retakes the lead in the hand and needs only to fade one of two Queens or the three remaining Eights in the deck, and with only the river card to come:

River: Ah

And with that for the second hand in the last few minutes two players have found themselves a double up. And with that hand we find ourselves on a break.

As we head into the break the tournament staff have yet to provide a chip count but we will get one up as soon as possible. To all those following the coverage on PokerProp thank you for your support, and keep your eyes out for our next report.
