Mohegan Sun's Winter Chill Poker Tournament SeriesThe Mohegan Sun isn’t slowing down in 2009 and kicking off the New Year with a major poker tournament series called the Mohegan Sun’s Winter Chill Poker tournament. The series of events will take place at the Mohegan Sun Casino from February 7th to the 15th, which includes a three day Main Event that begins on Friday the 13th.

Throughout the nine day event there will be nine tournaments in total and all of these will be varieties of Texas Hold’em. “We are extremely excited to be hosting our second major poker tournament since opening the new room back in August,” said Bruce Dixon, Director of Poker for Mohegan Sun. “Our first tournament in October was a huge success, with a larger turnout than we had anticipated, so we are hopeful that our Winter Chill Tournament will be even bigger and better.”

The first tournament will be a No Limit Texas Hold’em shoot out and the following tournament will be the first ever Mohegan Sun Ladies Event. The most anticipated tournament is by far the main event which features a $2,500 buy-in that includes a $200 entry fee. If you’re a lower stake player Mohegan Sun will run satellites and qualifying rounds starting January 5th and run all the way up to the upcoming days of the tournament series.

The Mohegan Sun is owned by the Mohegan Tribe and is located in Thames River in southeastern Connecticut. For more information and complete details of the Winter Chill Poker Tournament please visit mohegansun.com.
