“The Game” is a brand new television cash game poker show that is quite similar to High Stakes Poker on GSN. This will be the first time Sweden citizens will get to see a televised high stakes cash game. The show can be seen at 12:35 AM Sunday and Monday on Kanal 5. The show will run for nine continuous weeks.
The new high stakes poker show will feature several Scandinavian faces that include: Patrik Antonius and Martin De Knijff. There are other high profile players that enter the game that include: Tony G and Juha Helppi. There are two low stakes amateurs participating in The Game, who are Johan Ocklin and Jan Nilsson who are both from Sweden. Oddly enough, Ocklind qualified on via Party Poker for only $1 and will now have $50k in front of him against some of the best poker players in the world.
Party Poker ran several promotions, which would finally send two poker players into a high stakes cash game full of sharks. Ocklin and Nilsson will definitely be out matched, but hopefully they can luck box there way into winning some cash.
“The language at the table is predominantly English,” said a PartyPoker spokes person. “Look out for the six-figure pots and the tension between Ilari Sahamies and Patrick Antonius, which makes great television for any poker fan.”
