The yearly World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is back at PokerStars.com and today Event #1 took place which was a $215 No Limit Texas Hold’em Six Max tournament that drew 7,217 players. This is a great start for the WCOOP and the first event has a $1,443,400 prize pool and PokerStars had a $1 million guarantee for this event.
Throughout the WCOOP there will be 33 events for a total of $30,000,000 guaranteed. There is a wide selection of events for players who like to play other poker games besides Hold’em. Other events include games such as: Razz, HORSE, 2-7 and much more.
The WCOOP series will be running until September 22nd for a total of 18 days. The biggest guarantee is the main event, which is a $5,200 buy-in and a No Limit Texas Hold’em freeze out and is played out on September 21st. The guarantee for this tournament is a whopping $10,000,000! Making this the largest ever guaranteed tournament in history. Winners of any WCOOP event will not only cash in huge with the prize money, but will also earn a renowned WCOOP gold bracelet.
