PokerStars SNG Leaderboard Sets Orbit

Leading online poker room PokerStars has just introduced its first ever SNG leaderboard promotions which is called Battle of the Planets. This promotion will award the top Sit and Go players cash prizes and will pay out more than $3,000,000 per year in prizes, most of which are paid on a weekly basis.

PokerStars has split the tournament leaderboard into eight different divisions, each named after a planet. These different divisions were designed to level the playing field so players of all bankroll sizes can compete for prizes. For example, the lowest division, Mercury, includes SNGs with buy-ins of $1-$2.99 and the highest division, Jupiter, includes SNGs with buy-ins $300 or higher.
In addition to making the SNG leaderboard accessible to all players, PokerStars also has made these TLBs completive for both full-time and part-time players. Each division is broken down into 2 different leaderboard races which are called orbits. The low orbit TLB uses consecutive blocks of 20 SNGs to determine a players score while the high orbit TLB uses blocks of 100 tournaments to determine a players score.
