Poker Stars Now Available on a Mac

After a very long and overdue wait, Mac users now have the option of playing on PokerStars with a downloadable Mac compatible software.

Over the past year there were non stop rumors about PokerStars releasing their Mac platform software. However, it seemed to be all hype and affiliate websites building serps, for the one day when PokerStars would release the software. The news was finally made public on December 8th of 2007. PokerStars has now launched their Mac Compatible software to their public, but is still in ‘beta’ testing.

Although we are not Mac owners we got the skinny from our friends over at Poker-Mac.net, who are Mac enthusiasts. Through vigorous testing and playing on the PokerStars Mac software public beta, they feel in full confidence that this Mac software is the real deal. With full Mac compatibility and the same speed and quality you would receive on the Windows download.

Mac players can access all real money ring games and tournaments. The only option that is not available on the software yet is the Layout Manager and the preferred Seat features. These two options aren’t a necessity to playing on PokerStars and it will not affect your game.

Brad Willis from the PokerStars blog spoke about the release of the new software, ““While still in beta mode, the Mac PokerStars software offers nearly all the same features as the regular version. It is everything you have come to expect from PokerStars, except now, it’s on your Mac.”

The Full Tilt downloadable Mac compatible software has been available over two years now and they have been owning the Mac industry. Mac users tend to be very loyal to their products, but with the new PokerStars software, you will see several Mac users jump to play the juicy tournaments on Pokerstars.

Its very interesting to note, that there were over 3 million Mac computers sold in 2006. This number is expected to grow significantly in 2007. Its no doubt that the worlds largest poker site, PokerStars want to compete heads up with Full Tilt Poker, in offering a fully downloadable Mac software.

Directions to download the new Mac PokerStars Software:

- You’ll need to access the download page by visiting the PokerStars website and click the free download Play Now! Image.

- From there a Mac Poker download link titled, Mac download page exsits. After clicking that your address bar should look like this, pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/

- After clicking the Mac download page, you’ll have 5 steps to follow before you’re ready for real money play.

- Click the DOWNLOAD link and you’ll be promoted to ’safe file’ and the software will download to your personal desktop downloads folder.

- You’ll need to open the PokerStarsInstall in your downloads folder. After opening the Mac PokerStars software will be installed.

- Once the install is complete the PokerStars software will launch and you’ll need to create your secure personal PokerStars account by clicking ‘Create Account’ under the ‘Account’ tab.

- The final step is to verify your email and then you’ll be ready to play PokerStars on your Mac computer.
