Phil Ivey expects to win 2008 WSOP BraceletsFan favorite poker player Phil Ivey is apparently quite confident he’ll be winning a bracelet or two (or three) during the 2008 World Series of Poker as he’s layed some serious prop bet action he’ll do just that.

This year’s news of WSOP bracelet prop bets first broke on Daniel Negreanu’s blog where he mentioned having bet Phil Ivey which player would win more bracelets. The stakes of this wager are still unknown, but knowing these two ballers we can pretty much assume that it’s in the six figure bet. Another interesting clause in this bet is for each bracelet they win they’ll earn an extra 200,000! So if Phil wins 3 bracelets and Daniel wins 1, Daniel would owe Phil $400,000 + the undisclosed initial bet.

This isn’t the only action Phil Ivey has on himself though; Ivey apparently bet Ted Forrest 500,000 that he would win two bracelets and 1 million if he wins three. There is also several other gamblers jumping at the chance to bet with Ivey who is soaking up the bets at 1.8 to 1 to win a bracelet.

These bets seems quite odd considering each time Phil Ivey’s prop bets are made public generally the poker community’s consensus is that Ivey surely has the best of it. With odds of 1.8 to 1 when facing fields of thousands each time its hard to imagine anyone other the Mr. Phil Ivey considers him having the best of it. Oh well, all gamblers lose their mind at one time or another, we’ll be cheering for you Mr. Ivey!
