Patrik Antonius Joins Team Full TiltAs Patrick Antonius was preparing to play the first final table of the 2008 World Series of Poker, it was announced that he has signed on to become the newest member of Team Full Tilt Poker.

Patrik Antonius first made a name for himself in the poker industry after two deep finishes in the World Poker Tour in 2004. He continued his success in the 2005 World Series of Poker where he cashed in three events. From there Patrik final tabled the main event at the European Poker Tour in Barcelona where he finished 3rd and the next month he went on to win an EPT event in Baden bei Wien, taking home over 250,000 Euros.

Since his first place finish at Baden bei Wien Patrik Antonius has taken the poker world by storm. He has been featured on NBC’s Poker After dark three times, GSN’s High Stakes Poker and on NBC’s Heads up Championships. He is also one of the most talked about high stakes players amongst the hundreds of online poker forums.

Partik Antonius was previously sponsored by a smaller poker site operating on the Entraction Network (24h) named Martins Poker. His contact with this room ended in April and he’s been rumored to be playing at Full Tilt under the user name ‘FinddaGrind’ quite a bit this past month.

The Full Tilt sponsorship is obviously a well deserved upgrade for him as he becomes the fourteenth member of Team Full Tilt. He joins existing poker superstars and fan favorites Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Erik Seidel, Chris Ferguson, Andy Bloch, Allen Cunningham, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, Erick Lindgren, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman, Phil Gordon and Clonie Gowen as an ambassador to the site.

The final table of Event #1 of the WSOP is now underway. Antonius is starting the day as the short stack with 230,000 chips and is accompanied by now fellow team member Andy Bloch who has the largest stack at 2,115,000 chips. The two look to earn Team Full Tilt its 33rd World Series of Poker championship bracelet.
