The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has been one for a second year in a row by one of PokerStars own sponsored players, ElkY who also happens to have been the first PokerStars player to reach Supernova Elite via their VIP program. This could not be a bigger win for PokerStars as he is one of their regulars and is well known and well liked in the online poker community.

The World Poker Tour has announced the expansion of its female-oriented poker offerings by introducing a Ladies Poker League. This league will have its own No Limit Texas Hold’em circuit and will be branded under the name WPTL. Season one consists of 5 events with the final being titled the WPT Ladies’ Championship which will be filmed and aired on GSN. The first event will be held January 20 at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ.

It was reported on Mediatakeout.com that Jay-Z lost $500,000 on one hand of poker. The game was apparently friendly until Jay-Z decided to be a superstar and raise someone to $500,000.Read Entire Story here

Josh Field was scheduled to make his live tournament poker debit last week but had to change his plans after PokerStars.com told him he was not welcomed at the PCA. This did not delay the debut to long as Josh immediately changed his plans and is now in Melbourne playing the Aussie Millions. A major contributing factor to PokerStars growth has been the UIGEA. A law that was designed to force gambling companies from the American market. Josh Field, better known in the online poker world as JJ Prodigy, has found himself back in “Poker Headlines” this month and once again it’s not positive for this young poker prodigy. In short, the Poker Community including PokerStars is apparently not ready to forgive Field, despite a series of long public apologies he posted online the past week. JJ finds his online poker ban now extending offline where he has been told bluntly he is not welcome at an upcoming high stakes live poker tournament. Full Story Here

PokerStars, the World’s largest online poker room, is now available in a full download Mac version. If you’re a Mac poker player you can download the software now. It is already available for real money play, by visiting the PokerStars website. From the download page be sure to look for the link that says Mac Beta. Even though it says beta it’s working just fine and is fully functional.
