Looking for experienced help to manage a quickly growing brand name in the online poker world, Cardrunners announced the hiring of Lee Jones, Executive Host of the European Poker Tour, to become the companies Chief Operating Officer. More well known for his five year stint as Manager of Pokerstars and as the author of Winning Low Limit Holdem, Jones brings additional credibility beyond the internet forums where Cardrunners instructors are already worshiped.
Cardrunners made another big splash earlier this month when they announced a partnership with Full Tilt, making the card room the only site used in Cardrunners instructional videos and giving “red pro” status to the senior instructors. This move may be to alleviate work on the business end for senior Cardrunners staff, allowing them to focus more on the sites core content: poker videos. An industry which has exploded in recent years with similiar educational poker sites popping up seemingly monthly.
Despite his experience as a poker educator, Jones primary role will be in the day to day operations of Cardrunners. However he didn’t rule out possible future videos as a guest instructor.
“At least initially, I won’t be making videos – I’ll have plenty to do running the company. My first job will be a complete and thorough review of the entire video experience that our members have,” said Jones.
Jones has cited that the move was ideal for him and his family as they were planning a return to the US after a year of living in Europe.
