Last week it was rumored that Layla Kayleigh was fired from her position with the World Poker Tour. The rumor was half true as Layla reported in her blog that she in fact was leaving the WPT as the official spokes model, and a WPT press release shared the same news.
Kayleigh took the time to thank the WPT and thanked them for asking her to come back for a second season. “After much thought and deliberation I decided that I really want to minimize traveling in my schedule this year, focus more on my health and personal relationships, and they were very understanding to where I was coming from.” said Layla.
Here is what the World Poker Tour had to say about Layla leaving: “Layla Kaleigh brought great edge, wit and personality to the WPT as hostess in Season VI and we sincerely wish her well as she continues to explore her TV career. We are currently casting for the Season VII TV hostess role and look forward to introducing her to everyone soon.”
Even though the WPT has not announced who the new hostess will be, rumors suggest that Kimberly Lansing may be the front runner for the position. Kimberly is currently employed by the WPT as the online interview and reporter.
Layla Kaleigh now joins the list of former World Poker Tour babes, which also include Sabina Gadecki, Courtney Friel and Shana Hiatt. To date Shana has been the only hostess to have kept her job for more than one season. Fans of Layla will still see her around since she has plenty of TV work that will keep her busy. She is still the host of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and is a news anchor on G4′s The Feed.
