The Million Dollar Cash Game III sponsored by FullTiltPoker.com took place in London during the World Series of Poker Europe recently. The Million Dollar Cash Game is a No-Limit Hold’em cash game, in which every player at the table is required to buy-in for a minimum of $100,000 of their own money.

This is the 3rd installment of the Million Dollar Cash Game; Phil Ivey took down the Million Dollar Cash Game for the second time out of three. Many poker fans will remember last year when Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius hooked up in a $800,000+ pot in which Ivey’s Jacks Full bested Antonius’s Trip Aces at the time making it the biggest pot in televised poker history. In this years installment Phil took down a $531,000 pot against Chris Ferguson when Phil’s Pocket 3’s hit a set on the river. In another hand Phil forced Mike “The Mouth” Matusow to lay down second “Nut” with a well run bluff.

The Million Dollar Cash Game is a big event every year for the top pro’s as it is a chance for them to play huge no-limit hold’em, typically 300-600 No-Limit. This game is derived from the “Big Game” played in Bobby’s Room at The Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Big Game is typically a mixed game consisting of any number of forms of Poker played at minimum $4,000 – $8,000 blinds in a limit format. Some of the main stays of that game are FullTiltPoker.com Pro’s David Bennyamine, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Eli Elizra and Jennifer Harman. PokerStars.com Pro’s Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein. Doyles Room Pro’s Doyle Brunson and Todd Brunson. Other notable poker pros’ that were in action were Chau Giang and Johnny Chan.

Every one in the world continues to wonder how long Phil Ivey can hold up for but one thing is for sure that after this long I do not foresee him making any kind of fall from grace. Furthermore, if you think your better your welcome to step into the Ivey Deathmatch which is a heads up table on FullTiltPoker.com which the stakes are $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em against Phil Ivey with a minimum 50k buy-in. To those who think there better, right now he is playing on FullTiltPoker.com as I write this article (October 13, 2008); playing $2000/$4000 H.O.R.S.E., $500/$1000 with 30K Cap No-Limit Hold’em, 2000/4000 Limit Omaha Hi/lo 8 or better, a second table of $2000/$4000 Limit Omaha Hi/lo 8 or better, and a second $500/$1000 with $30K Cap No-Limit Hold’em with over $285,000 in play.
