Ismael Arribas Munoz made it through Everest Poker’s Avalanche tournament on May 29th earning him $200,000 and bragging rights. Munoz, from Madrid Spain was one of the 10 players who was flown to the Mediterranean and put on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship where the 10 players played a high stakes tournament competing for the $200,000 first place prize.
Everest Poker commented that the tournament was youth vs experience, with 10 finalists aged 21 to 55. The youth won this battle as the 26 year old Munoz took first place and second place went to 25 year old Wing Kwok Tang from the Netherlands. Third place went to 25 year old Brice Cousin from Paris.

7th Mieczyslaw Basara – Age 53, Bremen, Germany $25,000
8th Andreas Hoffman – Age 41, Germany, $17,000
9th Fabien Cauvet – Age 31, Houilles, France $12,500
10th Stefan Anders Hägg – Age 44, Linköping, Sweden, $10,000
Each other these players played a $3000 +150 online and finished in the top ten to earn their live seat at the final table. The total tournament prize pool was a guaranteed $1 million paid the top 100.
This is the second time Everest Poker has ran the Avalanche tournament and its been a huge success. It’s likely the same promotion will start up again later this year.
