Isabelle Mercier dumps PokerStarsIsabelle Mercier could very well fulfill many men’s fantasy’s being a successful professional poker player, French-Canadian and very good looking… or maybe it is just my fantasy. Meanwhile, she won’t be raising anymore eyebrows on PokerStars commercials and advertisements as she has decided to leave Team PokerStars to take on new projects.

The news was first broke by PokerListings.com, and they are claiming that Mercier has extensive projects, both internationally and nationally that are poker related and does not plan to give up playing poker, her life passion. There have been no details of the up and coming projects, besides the rumor of her seeking film rights for her autobiography, “Profession: Bluffeuse”.

Mercier first major breakthrough into the poker world happened when she took second place in a No Limit Hold’em tournament in Amsterdam at the Masters Classic of Poker 2002, which earned her $53,499. She parlayed those winnings into a major score with the World Poker Tour in 2004; winning Ladies’ Night for $25,000 and earning the nickname “No Mercy” from Mike Sexton. Since then she has nearly $1 million in live tournament winnings.

Over the past couple years Mercier has stepped outside of card room and took on projects of creating her own instructional DVD and appeared in the documentary film ‘That’s Poker’. In January 2008, she released a French written autobiography.

I’m very interested in following Mercier and learning about her new projects. They must be big because you just can’t walk away from a very lucrative sponsorship with PokerStars. I just hope it has nothing to do with her launching a skin on a network.
