Late last week it was announced that the World Poker Tour and Fulltiltpoker.net reached an agreement over sponsorship for the WPT Season 7. The agreement will provide Full Tilt title sponsorship for the 26 episode season and will air on Fox Sports Net.

The advertisement that Full Tilt will receive will promote the free play aspect of Full Tilt Poker’s operation. Also, as part of the deal Full Tilt will receive the right to air “in-show educational gaming brand integration.” according to Fulltilt LLC.

Full Tilt is not the first online poker site to hold the advertise rights with the World Poker Tour. A few sites that collaborated with the WPT are PartyPoker Millions, PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

The agreement benefits both companies greatly, as currently the World Poker Tour’s shares have been dropping dramatically, even before the market crash. The WPT has also seen a decline in audience levels throughout recent years and has also had to switch television carriers twice (Travel Channel & Game Show Network). Last year, their main event finals saw a decline from 575 to 412 entrants. The agreement will benefit Full Tilt by improving their brand image while also getting their name and logo to a wide target audience.

As of now there has been no announcement of when Season VII will kick off on Fox Sports Net, but it is expected that it will happen before the year is out. I can only imagine that we will see Fulltiltpoker.com offering its players various ways of getting into WPT events around the country.
