In mid November 2008, Doylesroom.com informed Pokerprop.net that they are seeking a new software provider and are already in negotiating with several networks. This news rapidly spread and posted on poker and affiliate forums across the net. The decision of moving to a new network came after their current software provider, Microgaming Network stopped allowing new residents of the United States to join DoylesRoom and other skins on the network.
The decision made by Microgaming to block all new United States players was decided in early November of 2008, after the state of Kentucky court seized the Microgaming domain along with nearly every other online gambling related domain.
At the time, of this statement it wasn’t clear which network DoylesRoom would be joining, however we have received inside information that they will be re-launching on the Cake Poker Network. We did not gain any insight on a time line, although it can be expected to be several weeks as the process of moving thousands of players to a new poker network is very involved.
DoylesRoom and the Cake Poker Network have to be very careful that the transferring of funds remains 100% secure and that all the players that are tracked properly to their respective affiliates. Not to mention the other countless details that need to be perfected before the official move takes place. Once everything is set in stone and the move is complete DoylesRoom will make an official statement.
This is great news for current DoylesRoom players as they will receive a new sign up bonus and will also be apart of a superior network with a higher player volume. Another great advantage of the Cake Poker network is their fair game policy, which means they do not allow any third party software while playing. The other networks that DoylesRoom had the option of joining were the Merge Gaming Network and Cereus.
The Merge Gaming Network offers excellent software and is a fast growing poker network that is known for having juicy games. Although, the downside with the Merge Gaming Network is their low player volume at higher limit games. Their player volume is also considerably low in comparison to the Cake Poker Network. Right now as we are writing this article Merge Gaming Network has 357 real money cash game players compared to Cake Poker Network hosting 2,200 real money cash game players. Popular rooms on the Merge networks are Carbon Poker, Iron Duke and Aced.com.
The other option was joining the Cereus Poker Network which would have caused at outrage of many online poker players. The Cereus network is Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet poker, which were caught in the middle of the biggest scams of online gambling to ever take place. We strongly advise our players to not play there as the network cannot be trusted. Props to DoylesRoom for not joining this network.
PokerProp will keep our players updated when the official date of DoylesRoom merger to the Cake Poker Network is confirmed.
