Doylesroom Joins Cake NetworkPopular online poker site Doylesroom.com is in the final days of preparation for their migration to the Cake Poker Network. While the date for the move has not been set, Doylesroom staff expects the move to be complete within 7 days.

Doylesroom is no stranger to moving networks. In 2007, their three year run on the Tribeca Poker Network came to end when they moved to the Microgaming Network. This move came as Tribeca was in the process of being consumed by PlayTech’s iPoker Network which had recently stopped accepting US players. In November 2008, Doylesroom.com found itself in the exact situation that they had avoided by moving to Microgaming in the first place, when Microgaming announced their exit from the US market.

Doyle Brunson the voice behind Doylesroom.com has become quite vocal about sites not caving to US “mystery laws” regarding online poker (related link). Immediately after Microgaming pulled out of the market, Doylesroom announced its intent to change networks as soon as possible. The two leading candidates for the new Doylesroom.com home were the Merge Network and the Cake Network. The news of which one was chosen broke when on January 5, 2009, Doyle Brunson himself commented, “We are going to the Cake Poker network…don’t tell anybody…it’s a secret”.

The Doylesroom staff we’ve spoken to are extremely excited about the merger and moving forward with the Cake Network. While players seem a bit more hesitant on how to interpret the news, many will be pleased to learn that Doylesroom has converted their Loyalty Point balances to Cake Network’s equivalent called Gold Chips. Once they download the new software, they’ll notice a wealth of unique features and higher player volume than that of the previous network.

When all is said and done, this migration will likely prove to be a win for everyone involved: players, affiliates, Doylesroom and Cake. We wish Doylesroom a successful migration, a great 2009, and we look forward to re-adding them to our list of USA friendly online poker sites.
