PokerStars.com has recently announced the return of the PCA which will be held at the World Famous Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas, this event will also be a Season 5 stop for the EPT. Starting on January 4th 2009 and running through the 10th of January.
The event promises to be a huge draw for the worlds top pro’s and players alike. Many of the PokerStars.com Team Pro’s will be in attendance with former main event winners Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem and Greg Raymer already scheduled to attend. Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier’s (Defending Champ) are slated as participants. In 2008 Grospellier out lasted a field of 1,136 players to take home $2 million of the $8,594,976 prize pool. Many players consider this to be a very important stop on the schedule of Major Tournaments every year.
This event has seen it’s first place prize jump considerably from the first ever PCA in 2004 when an unknown Gus Hansen took home $430,780 for first, this year should be at least $2 Million if not $2.5 or $3 Million for first.
Every year this event in held at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas which adds to the event because if you bust out it’s not as depressing when your in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
