>NBC’s popular poker show is moving from South Point casino to the longest running Vegas Hotel Casino, the Golden Nugget. Poker After Dark will now be filmed inside the Golden Nugget at the newest events center called “The Grand”, which has been used for producing poker production in the past.

“The Golden Nugget is thrilled to host the fifth season of NBC’s exciting, late-night poker program, Poker After Dark. The Golden Nugget has been home to several big poker productions, as well as hosted many poker tournaments and events, so bringing a top-rated program like Poker After Dark to the property just seemed like a natural fit.” Spoke Golden Nuggets chief operator, Brett Kellerman.

Poker After Dark will be returning for a fifth season and the plan is to bring more creative matches with short handed play. Season four has been the most entertaining season to date which featured a cash game with Phil Hellmuth and Tom “Durrr” Dawn sitting next to each other, which lead for some great action and arguments.

Season four also hosted a heads up format with Phil Hellmuth playing Chris Ferguson in the finals and Hellmuth pulling through. Another installment was the Nets vs Vets, which was slang for internet poker players vs veteran poker players. The players that participated in were Tom Dawn, Brian Townsend, Andrew Robl, Huck Seed, Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson.

Currently, Poker After Dark season four is still airing and new episodes will start September 22nd with a title of “Mission Impossible” and another cash game will air October 13th with Patrik Antonius, Dee Tiller, Howard Lederer, Doyle Brunson, Gabe Kaplan and Eli Elezra.

Season five is expected to start shooting in early 2009 at The Grand.
