Layne Flack took down the sixth WSOP bracelet of his career last night when he won Event #34, $1500 Omaha w/ Rebuys. It was 2005 when Layne Flack had last made a final table and he hadn’t won a bracelet since 2003, so it had been a while. His performance last night shows he is still a force to be reckoned with on the tournament circuit and another victory or two could lead his name, for the first time in years, back into the discussion of all time poker greats.
Layne Flack obviously wanted a bracelet bad tonight as he played super aggressive on day one where he also rebought and amazing 22 times in order to gain chips. Time will only tell if Flack uses tonight’s victory as a relaunching point for his career, but no matter what the case, we congratulate him on his victory tonight.
Final Table Coverage:
When the night started the blinds were 8K/16K and the chip counts were:

Once West was eliminated play became very slow and after about an hour had passed Michael Guzzardi got his chips all in on the flop with a gut shot and a bunch of overs against Layne Flacks open ended straight draw. It ended up being just a turned pair of fours that secured Flack the pot which eliminated Guzzardi in seventh place, good for a $90,267 payday.
After 90 more minutes with no eliminations Kyle Kloeckner got all his money in on the turn with Ks 8d 5c 2h with a board that read 6h 2d 2c Kh and was called by Flack who held 7s 6c 6d 5h. The river was Ad and Kloeckner was eliminated taking home $114,338 for his sixth place finish. Dan Makowsky 725,000

Toward the end of this level Dario Alioto got his 1 million chips all in preflop with 6c 5c 4h 3c against Layne Flack’s Ah As 6h 5h. The board ran Qc 8c 7h Js Qh and Alioto was eliminated in fourth place, worth $180,534.
With three players left Laak had over 2/3 of the chips in play and made short work of his remaining opponents. The first of them to go was Jacobo Fernandez who received $222,659 for his third place finish. He got all his money in with Ac As 8s Kd on a flop of 10s 10c 6h and Flack showed 6s 6c 4h 2s.

Makowsky: Ac Kd 4d 4s
The board ran 10c 7d 5d 6h Ks and Makowsky was awarded $355,051 for his runner-up finish, and Layne Flack won his sixth WSOP bracelet collecting $577,710 in top place prize money.
