Dario Minieri entered the six handed final table of Event #31 ($2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six-handed) with a considerable chip lead. When the event was finished Minieri had out lasted 1,012 entrants to give Italy their second bracelet of the 2008 WSOP. His reward: $528,418 top place prize money and his first career bracelet.

Stuart Marsjak eliminated in sixth place earning $73,784
The first victim of the final table was Marsjak on only the 10th hand dealt at the final table. This hand started with Kevin Song raising to 47K preflop and both Filtz and Minieri calling before Marshak re-raises all in for 159,000 total. Song Folded, Filtz moved all in, and Minieri folded.

Filtz: Kc-Kh
The board ran: 9h-Qs-3h-2h-2s, even though Marsjak picked up some outs on the flop he still failed to improve on the turn and river, which eliminated him from the tournament.
John O’Shea eliminated in fifth place earning $98,923
Nine hands after Marsjak was eliminated John O’Shea ran into Seth Fischer who raised it to 55,000 preflop and O’shea called from the big blind. The flop came Ah-2s-5s, O’Shea check raises all in after had Fischer bet 110,000, and Fischer calls.
O’shea: 4s-2d
Fischer: As-9s
The complete board ran: (Ah-2s-5s) Ac-Qd, with the turn hitting another Ace O’Shea was drawing dead and was eliminated from the event in fifth place.
Kevin Song eliminated in fourth place earning $141,983
From the button Kevin Song raised to 75,000 and Minieri re-raised to 155,000 from the big blind. Song then decides to push all in for 642,000 and Minieri hits the tank and finally decides to call. The hands are shown:

Song: Kc-Jh
The board ran: 2c-9s-5h-Qs-Ac and Song was eliminated after a big pot. Dario Minieri now has a commanding chip lead.
Justin Filtz eliminated in third place earning $214,139
Filtz was able to get all his chips in the middle against Seth Fischer and Filtz was quite delighted when the chips were put in and hands were revealed:
Filtz: As-Ah
Fischer: Ac-Kh
The board ran: 9d-Jh-Kc-Ks-Jd, Fischer hit trip kings and eliminated Fitlz from the tournament. This was a major suckout for Fischer, but Filtz showed great class and didn’t blow up and walked away with over $200,000.
Seth Fischer eliminated in second place earning $330,519
The final hand of Fischer and event #31 came on the 198th hand. Dario Minieri raised to 125,000 and Fischer moved all in over top ad Minieri insta-called. The hands were revealed:

Minieri: Qd-Qh
The board ran Ah-Ad-5c-2c-3d and Dario Minieri eliminates Seth Fishcer with a Queens and Aces.
Mineri wins Event #31 - $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six-handed, which earns him his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet and a first place prize of $528,418!
