As you might recall, Poker-Prop.net partnered with PokerNews and Pacific Poker to offer our visitors a chance to become a “Poker Pro for a Year”. This promotion was broken down into six series which included 12 freeroll tournaments and over 50 league events over a year’s time. The online portion of the competition determined the ten finalists that would be flown to a secret location to compete live for the grand prize.
The secret location was later revealed to be the Crown Casino in Melbourne Australia and thhe 10 players that were advanced to the live event were, Joanne Abolins, Massimo Di Marco, Andrew Ritchie ,Martin Page, Robert Ritchie, Luke Abolins, Robert Price, Kairit Leibold, Ilja Smid and Carlo Carione.
After over six hours of play, Luke Abolins eliminated Carlo Carione to become the grand prize winner. Luke will be sponsored to compete in four high stakes poker tournaments in 2008 specifically the Aussie Millions, World Series of Poker Main Event, 888 UK Poker Open and the 888.com Canadian Heads up Challenge. His entry fee, spending money, travel fees, and hotel accommodations are all covered as the result of his victory.
Poker fans can stay up to date on Luke’s progress as he will have his very own blog, to share his new life stories as a professional poker player.
