Hellmuth Goes Back To London for European Open IVNot only will Phil “The Poker Brat” be competing the European Open IV in London he will be on the right hand side of Jesse May for the commentary. “I am really looking forward to playing in, and commentating for, the European Open,” Hellmuth said in a press release. “I am flying from California to London for one reason: to win, baby!”

The tournament has a $7K buy-in, which is $2K more then they had last year. The prize pool will be over $500k and players are required to advance via heats. The playing field is split into 12 different heats and the winner of each heat will advance to the semi-final state. Each runner up from the heats will play at the “last chance” turbo heat, for two open spots.

Hellmuth will have to make it through a star studded field which include, Juah Helppi, U.K. Open Champion Andre Feldman, Michael McCool, Roland de Wolfe, Andy Black, Marty Smith, Roy Brindley, Ian Frazer, Ian Cox, Robin Keston and Surinder Sunar. Last years European open winner, Liam Flood will also be playing.

“We are delighted with the field we have assembled for the European Open IV,” said Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport head of online gaming. “The inclusion of Phil Hellmuth will certainly spice things up, but we have a host of U.K. talent standing in his way, and you can be sure that ‘The Gentleman’ Liam Flood won’t give up his crown without a fight.”

Party Poker will be hosting the European Open and they are stoked to have a world class player like Phil Hellmuth attending and providing commentary. “Every time Hellmuth comes to the U.K. he has a massive target painted on his forehead, and the more he talks, the more Europe’s finest become determined to ‘Kill Phil,’” said a PartyPoker spokesman.
