Plays at: Cake Poker Prefers: Texas Hold'em | Come on guys. I grew up in Atlantic City. It's not even close to that bad there. It sounds like your staying at the Taj too Jim which your right has brutal security, but they just over do it sometimes. Now if your near the Tropicana by any chance watch your back if your out late night. Other then that AC isn't all that bad. It's no Vegas, but for us east coast guys it's home sweet home!!!! I can't wait to get back!!! |

Plays at: PokerStars Prefers: $8/$16 O.E | I haven't been around much yet to say how bad it is or isn't, but first impression was wow why do they need so much security. Anyways I'm awake now. Only slept maybe 4 hours at best, this happened to me first night in Vegas when playing a noon WSOP and it was worst, I arived to hotel about the same time as I did here and only managed to get 1.5 hours sleep. Not sure if its the anticipation or getting used to the new room. The lack of sleep I didn't feel was a factor in Vegas so hopefully it won't be here either. Ok I'm off to register for Stud Hi/Lo and then to find some breakfast. btw villaskid, welcome to the forum. |

Prefers: Texas Hold'em | I was, joking about AC, I haven't been there in over 15 years. I remember when we flew in and took the bus from the airport we went thru some tough looking neighborhoods, and we wee warned not to stray too far on the boardwalk. The new MGM at foxwoods has guards at the elevator too |

Plays at: Cake Poker Prefers: Texas Hold'em | Thanks for the warm welcome Jim. Barton you are def right about the "tough" neighborhoods. They are mostly located away from the boardwalk though. If Jim is staying at The Taj, and then maybe taking a car to the Borgata he should be fine. On the security issue again, I'm thinking it must just be a casino to casino thing. I recently stayed at The Orleans out here, and had to show my key to get upstairs, but when I stayed "downtown" @ 4 Queens which is def a worse neighborhood security seemed to be obsolete. Dunno just my observation from casino to casino. |
