Plays at: Pokerstars Prefers: Texas Hold'em | I've been playing on Carbon for almost a year. They are seeing less and less of me. The games are really soft, sure, but their software needs some improvement. It's had an issue for as long as I've been playing there, and now there's another issue. First of all ... how do you get a screenshot up here? HTML or IMG? I'll play around with it. They have a 2x2 grid table view option, where you can fit 4 tables in 1 window. This is such a great feature. With it, you could easily switch between 8,12, or even more tables with a simple Alt+Tab. But you can't use this feature. Why not? I'll show you. (one of these has got to work) ![]() This first screenshot is 4 tables in 1 window with the 2x2 grid view. Everything is god awful blurry. You can't see the pot size, bet sizes, player names, the chatbox, anything, clearly. It's all blurry as fuck. Even manually shrinking a full sized table will get these results. Blurry fucking shit. Hell, let's go all the way with this. This is from their website. "Vector Graphics We like to think that its the little things that can make a big difference, so when we made our re-sizable windows we made sure that no matter what size you make our window, the graphics remain clear, and don't go pixelated. To achieve this all our table images are vector graphics (also called geometric modeling or object-oriented graphics). Wikipedia explains this as the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and polygons, which are all based upon mathematical equations to represent images in computer graphics. For those of us who don't care for jargon, the only important thing we need to know, is that no matter what we do to our screen, the graphics are always crisp. Lets face it, if you are playing for hours on end the screen can get blurry enough as it is, you don't need pixelated graphics as well." http://www.carbonpoker.com/features/vectorgraphics.html I have photographic evidence to the contrary, Carbon. So that's been a problem the whole time I've been playing there. That 2x2 grid is their software's best feature, but I can't even use it because it's so fucking blurry. But I dealt with it. I just played with full sized windows, switching between them with Alt+Tab. There's an option called bring active game to front, which if left on pops up a table when it's your turn to act there, really fucking annoying, but you can turn that off. Fine. Good. Adequate. I played that way. Fine. But now there's a different problem. A new problem. Something they changed a few months ago. ![]() This second screenshot shows the alerts. These alerts are very neccessary when you have to switch between multiple tables with Alt+Tab, as you can't watch all tables at the same time, you can only watch one table. The alerts alert you that it is your turn to act on your other table, but the alerts have sadly changed. The table tabs at the top (arrow 1) used to flash bright orange, but now they just flash silver, which doesn't stand out that much. In this second screenshot, the alert is flashing. Well, it's hard to see, but at least the table tab at the top still flashes. Oh but damn, fuck, grasshopper eating shit, the window button. The fucking window button in the taskbar, darn it all to hell. The window button down in the taskbar (arrow 2) also used to flash bright orange, which was great. It's an ALERT. It tells you IT'S YOUR TURN TO ACT! It jumps out at you LIKE THIS!!! But the window button no longer flashes orange, it doesn't even flash silver. It doesn't flash at all. What does this mean? Well, aside from totally inadequate alerts while playing, if you happen to be browsing the internet, checking email, or wacking off to porn pictures you've saved while playing poker, you'll totally miss your turn because while you have your tables minimized, that button will not flash and you won't know there is an alert. Their alerts have gone from AAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLEEEEERRRRRRRRRT!!!!! to . It's a major problem, and it prevents me from putting in serious playing time there. I can only play there recreationally, because of these problems. And it really sucks, I love Carbon Poker, but they are fucking losing me because their software is not improving, it's getting worse. I've sent in multiple emails about these issues, and either nothing can be done, or they just ignore me. My fellow poker prop forum members, if you play on Carbon Poker, call your senator, contact your local Carbon Poker representative and bring up these issues. They need to be fixed. Thank you. End scene. Last edited by LirvA; 08-04-2008 at 08:20 PM. Reason: remove HTML |
