| Grant Hinkle a 27-year-old marketing manager from Kansas City, MO accomplished the dream of many poker players last night. He managed to win himself a World Series of Poker championship gold championship bracelet along with $831,462 in cash. He was playing his first WSOP event and recently got into poker after seeing his brother Blair Hinkle (known online as blur5f6) have so much success. He scored himself a deal with Bodog Poker before the final table started and his mother, brother and father all caught a last minute flight to Vegas and watched live as he took down the championship. He was short stacked when the final table began but managed to build a large chip stack when using the advice his brother Blain provided him, which was to be aggressive. On the final hand he had 7 million and his opponent had 5 million chips. He 4 bet his opponent all in on a stone cold bluff tabling ten four suited. He managed to flop a miracle ten ten four and then made quads on the turn. Despite some amazing luck in the end he had truly played solid poker through out the event. Link to Full Story |
