I'm not sure I would of felt like this ten years ago or not but turning 29 soon I'm sure now I feel this way for sure. For you guys that don't know me.. I made a lot of money when I was a teenager and the internet was brand new, but I lost it all and then some falling into what felt like insurmountable debt. After a couple years of depression (which the loss of millions of dollars caused) during which time I was playing poker as a prop only enough to pretty much get by I finally got back on my feet and got back into the business side of poker. A short off topic note on that, is I don't think I would of been so motivated into getting into the business side if it had not been for seeing so many big sites promoting scum bag sites. I watched players money go down with a sinking ship where it could of been avoided so many times.. and also I felt the support in the industry was kind of a joke.. this is what motivated me to get started more than money. When I think back now though even when I was making LOTS of money it was never really about money. It was all about the challenge, the thrill of rewards that come from hard work, smart decisions, and good investment that was the driving factor. I'll admit I perhaps don't respect money as much as I should so it will come and go more often but I'm still responsible and all with money being the motivating challenge.. all a wash in the end. Anyways thats a little about me, I'm most certainly the type that would rather have the bracelet even if i was close to flat broke, knowing I've never worried about money in my life even though there were times others would have. |

There's only one guys I recall that used to flaunt his bracelet from time to time and his name is like on the tip of my tongue but can't think if it. Heavy smoker, a bit on thinner side, real rugged looking guy, wore black foxwoods Royal Flush jacket all the time which looked like it had also taken a beating. He was a great tournament player though and kind of a nice guy, like he'd chat later when smoking was banned, even one time asked me about hand during a break which caught me off guard that he'd actually want my opinion on a hand because I didn't get much respect from a lot of the older tournament players being so young - let alone the guys who flaunted his WSOP bracelet from time to time. ugh short name can't remember it "not a Dave or Mike type short name either". Keep in mind I started playing at Foxwoods when I was 17 so I made a point not to get to know all that many people. When I turned 21 i took a couple years off and I came back wearing PokerStars hat and shirt during a preliminary WPT tournament blending in with all the internet people and with the room being packed then figuring I could hopefully start playing as myself now. What happened was pretty funny because some people recoginized me obviously and started calling me Stars and then for the rest of my life at Foxwoods I became known as Stars. The dealers changed a lot but the floor still calls me Stars to this day. | |

| Journeyman | I would want to play for the bracelet. If we were about even stacked and from the example given, I would suggest we each take 350k and play for the extra 50k and the bacelet. If Im already getting 250k minimum I am not passing up the oppurtunity to win a bracelet. I may never be in that close of a situation ever again. A bracelet is epic even if its in a prelim event. I would want to win it myself though and not have the guy just give it to me. |

It was more like, would you sell the opportunity to win a bracelet for an amount of money, even if you had a good payday already locked up. Personally I don't care about the "actual bracelet", I'd throw it in a box with my gold and silver coins and probably not do much with it again, but the opportunity to win one I would never pass up. |
