Default No Limit Vs. Limit

Not so long ago, there were alot of full fixed limit tables to choose from. But since the WSOP, and other poker programmes were broadcasted ive seen NL became more and more populair. The same goes for 6 max Vs. 10 handed tables ( people are action junkies? =P).

I mostly play limit and find it hard to adjust to NL (although i could grind it down at the lower limits). And because there aren't alot of 10 handed tables, i play alot of 6 max....but the swings in 6 max limit are pretty brutal....

So....are there any dinosaurs here that play 10 handed fixed limit games?

I'm a fixed limit player and for Omaha and Stud games I prefer as many players as possible. I get way to bored with Holdem though so I prefer short handed play for that game.

Its interesting for us that we used to always need more FL props and these days it seems many of the sites are really keying on and focusing on NL games which probably has something to do with why FL traffic is decreasing and NL traffic is increasing as the sites have a lot more players starting new tables at NL.

i am not a fan of FL because i cant give people the incorrect odds to draw on, granted it goes both ways, but i am by no means a luck box, so i am accustomed to missing an absurd number of times.

My first post, greets everyone. I've done the full hold 'em circle from fixed limit full ring, to 6 max, to multi tournaments, to SNG's to heads up SNG's, to NL cash and I'm back at 6 max limit and more recently heads up limit.

I found tourneys, sngs and NL too tilt inducing and ironically I find NL a bit on the boring side, since it's rare to reach the river without a good hand and I HATE folding decent hands. In limit calling down with marginal holdings is mandatory (to a point) and I find it's a lot easier to get an idea on what an opponent is doing.

I've recently taken up HU limit and wow, that is FUN I was inspired by watching a video played by Bryce in a $1000/$2000 match, it was incredible to see how complex and inventive poker can get.

Heads up is all about feel (and maths) - sizing up your opponent and trying to play in a way that exploits his style. Generally one can get away with a very formulaic approach to 6 max so this has been a very interesting breath of fresh air for me.

To answer your question , yes I do still play some full ring, but only when I spot a fish there

Well I suppose I'm a dinosaur. I prefer 10 or 9 handed games over 6 handed games. The way I play doesn't exactly transfer well into short handed games. And yes I prefer playing Limit and No Limit on full tables.

The trend definitely seems to be headed towards 6 handed and heads up tables. One site that seems to have a lot of 10 handed action is Everest Poker.
