High Stakes Poker Season 5 Episode 5 returned on Sunday with another action packed 40 some minutes of high stakes Texas Hold’em. The players remained the same from previous episodes this season. Episode five features Daniel Negreanu going on tilt and getting into a monster pot with Eli Elezra.

40 year old Huck Seed is known for his major prop bets that he tends to win, and he has just made another one that seems nearly impossible. Huck is saying he can run a mile in 4 minutes and 39 seconds and is getting laid 33 to 1. He has until his birthday to win the bet which gives him until January 15th 2010.

The second installment of 2009’s Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) will begin May 6th and run until the 17th of May. The series will feature 25 tournaments with a total guaranteed prize pool of $17 million. There will also be a MiniFTOPS, which will consist of the same tournaments, but with 10% of the buy-in amounts for smaller bankroll players.

BugsysClub.com mission statement was ‘The Best Poker Games in Town’ and now they have finally lived up to it as PokerStars has acquired the entire BugsysClub player base. Any player who has a balance on BugsysClub will have their funds transfered to PokerStars. However, all bonus points will be lost.

The two high stakes poker players were back at the tables and getting hands in for the Million Dollar durrrr Challenge. This session looked like it was going to favour Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan until he flopped a flush and lost to Antonius’s full house and from there he tilted away his profits and then some.

High Stakes Poker Season 5 episode 4 aired this past Sunday and it featured the second largest pot of the shows history. It came when Tom Dwan held pocket aces and Barry Greenstein held jack nine hearts in the hole. Anyone can watch the hand and the entire episode by visiting the news article.

The Million Dollar durrrr Challenge has gone quite slowly, but we are happy to report that two sessions were played on Sunday and Tuesday for a total of 1,016 hands. Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan has made a comeback and then some and is now up a total of $67,163 over Patrik Antonius with exactly 43,373 hands remaining.

Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and Patrik Antonius played their second session of the week and once again Antonius came out on top. During the 425 hand session Antonius was able to win $161,086 from durrrr giving him the total lead of the challenge to $107,445 with 44,499 hands remaining.

The Main Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit in Atlantic held a $5,000 buy-in, which produced a first place prize of $322,944 that was won by Canadian poker player Samuel Chartier. Second place went to another Canadian from Toronto named John Nixon who took home $177,619 for his effort.

The 2009 World Series of Poker has undergone many recent changes. The first one players will notice instantaneously is the start chip stacks. Back in 2008 the chip stacks doubled and this year they have tripled with also new levels to the event structures. Also, there is going to be a lot more rules cracking down on foul language and abuse to players and dealers.
