Carlos Poker has officially announced that they will be joining their sister company, Unibet Poker while still operating independently on the Microgaming network. This decision was made today after iPoker gave them until the 26th of January to find a new home. There is no date set on when the entire move will be completed, until then Carlos Poker remains operating on the iPoker Network.

The first event of the 2009 Aussie Millions has been won by Christian Heich who earned a pay cheque of $150,000 AUD. This tournament had a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 AUD and had over 500 players pre-registered.

Patrik Antonius has officially accepted ‘Durrr’ Dwan’s Million Dollar Challenge. “It sounded too good to be true” was Patrik Antonius’s first thought when he heard about the challenge, which is where he is putting up $1.5 million to anyone’s $500,000 and if his opponent can beat him over 50,000 hands at $200/$400 No Limit Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha while four tabling online.

The 2009 Aussie Millions schedule can be found by visiting the main page of news. This year there will 18 events including a 10,500AUD Main Event, which is guarantying $2 million AUD. Other highlight events include a 100,500 AUD high roller no limit hold’em challenge and a 10,200 AUD HORSE event.

To kick off the first FTOPS of 2009 Full Tilt is having a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million that is spread out over 25 events starting on February 5th. The 25 events will run until the 15th of February and will feature a main event that has a $2.5 million guarantee prize pool with only a $500 + $35 buy-in.

Starting February 7th until the 15th the Mohegan Sun is offering a series of tournaments in Thames River, Connecticut. There will be a total of nine tournaments being spread out over nine days that includes a $2,500 No Limit Texas Hold’em freezeout. What is interesting about this series is that there will be only Texas Hold’em being played, however, there are several varieties other than no limit.

On December 26th the iPoker Network released a statement notifying that NoIQ Poker and Carlos Poker will be removed from their network entirely on January 24th, 2009. It did not take long for NoIQ Poker to find a new home with the promising Entraction Poker Network. However, there is no clear indication on what is happening with Carlos Poker.

During an interview with Bluff Magazine, Tom “Durrr” Dwan stated that he is making a heads up challenge to the world, except Phil Galfond and will lay 3-1 that over 50,000 hands he will have won more money than the challenger. The challenger must put up $500,000 and Durrr will put up $1.5 million.
