The much anticipated 2009 WSOP Schedule will finally be released on Monday (January 19, 2009). A generally reliable source has informed poker-prop.net, “there will be considerably less events this year with rebuys being the most noticeable absence”. The 2009 Aussie Millions Event 5 $1,100 AUD buy-in HORSE tournament went to Jarred Solomon after he beat Van Marcus heads up and won $30,380 AUD first place prize, along with a gold championship ring. Marcus earned $20,580 AUD for his second place effort.

Poorya Nazari spent $700 in a $33 triple re-buy qualifier and won his way to the Bahamas with a seat to the 2009 PokerStars Carribean Adventure European Poker Tour Main Event. The event had 1,347 entrants with 746 of them being qualified via PokerStars. The remaining players coughed up $10k to enter the event, which created a prize pool of $12.5 million and a first place prize of $3 million, which was won by Canadian Poker Player Poorya Nazari.
The first ever Omaha hi-lo event of the 2009 Aussie Millions was deemed a success with a 102 entrants ponying up the $1,100 AUD buy-in. Although, Mel Judah was the most successful player and it took over 17 hours for him to win the first place prize of $30,600 AUD at Event 3.
Event 2 had a total of 83 players enter the unique Aussie Millions event, which was played on electronic computerized poker tables that are made by PokerPro. The tournament had a $1050 AUD buy-in, which created a first place prize of $25,000 that went to Mitchell Carle.
