As professional gamblers who’ve lived off playing poker and betting sports, we realize that casino gambling is almost always -EV. While exceptions exist, such as bonus whoring and site promotions, we started this guide for entertainment gamblers who understand to win they’ll need to get lucky and that most all casino players lose long term.
We take this section of our website very seriously, and are constantly updating reviews, researching watchdog sites for player complaints and taking other steps to ensure our online casino recommendation list is current.

How we Choose Online Casinos To Recommend
When we first created our recommended online casino list in 2007, we considered casinos for inclusion that had proven track records, no missed payouts, and fairly audited gaming software. After spending time on casino watchdog forums, in January 2009, we added new criteria. We no longer recommenced casinos that intentionally use deceptive bonuses to attract players.
Deceptive Casino Bonus Example
While we hate to single any casino in particular out, for the sake of example let’s look at ClubUSA’s bonus. If using one of their 100% bonus codes you’ll need to rollover your deposit plus bonus 20 or 50 times depending which bonus you choose. With the bonus being double the size of the deposit we’ll restate this as you’ll need to rollover your deposit 40 to 100 times. If you look further at their bonus you’ll discover that the actual bonus can’t be cashed out. This means if you deposit $500 and get a $500 bonus your balance will be $1,000. This bonus has a 20 time rollover requirement so after making $20,000 in casino bets, you can cash out what you have in your account less than $500 bonus. Wow! This means you’ll need to actually lose your deposit before you actually get to freeroll with the bonus, and you’ll need to then recover to even be able to cash out. Even worst is another term: You can’t cash out more than $2,000 in winnings if you use their bonus. To us this is not a bonus at all, its a loan and a loan that comes at a great cost as your money is now hostage to a rollover.
If it sounds to good to be true…
ClubUSA happens to be an example of an otherwise high integrity casino, using deceptive marketing. To their credit, this is all covered in fine print one their website and they do offer and option to decline bonuses. If not for the issue of unsuspecting players getting tied into major rollover, we’d gladly have them on our recommended list.
The bigger problem is that most casinos are simply not honest. The web is filled with fly by night operations and large professional looking websites pimping them. Quite often you’ll find huge bonuses with reasonable rollover, only to some how be screwed out of it down the road. A common tactic is payout delays, followed by excuses such as its on it way, check was lost, and then whatever else they can come up with to leave you hanging onto the hope you’ll eventually be paid.
Bonus Offered by Trust Worthy Casinos:
Generally the safest casinos offer “reasonable bonuses” such 100% with a small maximum, 50% with a decent rollover requirement, or a 10-25% bonus with fair rollover. While this might be disappointing to some, your welcome to go out chasing the biggest casino bonuses, however more than likely, if you play with fire, you’re going to get burned.
