The Main Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit in Atlantic held a $5,000 buy-in, which produced a first place prize of $322,944 that was won by Canadian poker player Samuel Chartier. Second place went to another Canadian from Toronto named John Nixon who took home $177,619 for his effort.

The 2009 World Series of Poker has undergone many recent changes. The first one players will notice instantaneously is the start chip stacks. Back in 2008 the chip stacks doubled and this year they have tripled with also new levels to the event structures. The final table of the Aussie Millions HORSE Event had many major names including Chris Ferguson, Joe Hachem, Tino Lechich, Zac Fellows, Lee Lelson, Jeff Madsen, Alexander Kostritsyn and Michael Binger all competing for the first place prize of $95,000 AUD. However, it was Kostritsyn who got the best of everyone and took home first the first place prize and the champion’s ring.

Event 14 at the Aussie Millions took a very long time to be played out. When there were 24 players remaining, it took another 12 hours before Thomas Lindberg beat Noah Schwartz in a heads up battle and took home a first place prize of $130,021.

Adam Peck came out in first place at the 2009 Aussie Millions Event 13, $1,100 Mixed Hold’em tournament. The blinds got so steep at the final table, which made the first place prize of $25,000 AUD up to anyone who got the hot cards, which was Peck.
